SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Development Manager plays a critical role in advancing El Museo's fundraising efforts by managing key donor relationships, overseeing patron programs, and coordinating corporate partnerships and special events. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, diplomatic communication, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to take initiative while exercising sound judgment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Patron Program Management
  • Oversee the management and strategic expansion of the Círculo patrons group
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to cultivate and retain patron members
Major Gifts Portfolio Management
  • Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects through all stages of the donor cycle
  • Conduct prospect research to identify and qualify potential major donors
  • Support board members who maintain their own donor portfolios, ensuring cultivation and solicitation activities progress effectively
  • Track donor interactions and maintain comprehensive records in Raiser's Edge NXT
Corporate Sponsorship
  • Oversee corporate sponsorship solicitations and proposals
  • Coordinate sponsorship activations and ensure delivery of benefits
  • Maintain relationships with corporate partners

Event Coordination
  • Serve as primary liaison to Gala consultants, ensuring seamless coordination and execution
  • Oversee logistics for donor cultivation events and internal gatherings
  • Represent the Museum at events that present donor engagement opportunities
Additional Responsibilities
  • Draft donor communications, including acknowledgments, proposals, and correspondence
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree required, with a minimum of three years' relevant experience in development, preferably including major gifts or patron programs
  • Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate tactfully with diverse stakeholders
  • Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through
  • Proactive self-starter who exercises good judgment and discretion
  • Proficiency in Raiser's Edge NXT and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
  • Willingness to travel and participate in evening and weekend activities
  • Knowledge of best practices in fundraising and commitment to ethical donor relations
  • Diplomatic interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with board members, donors, and colleagues
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
Salary Range: $70,000-$75,000

Paid time off includes thirteen (13) holidays, ten (10) vacation days, two (2) personal days and ten (10) sick days.
